In some cases Windows updates were preventing it due to new WIndows installer security, soġ) Check recent Updates and remove them, install Java 8 Update 66. ![]() Recently Java 8 Update 66 would cause this very issue on Windows 8, Windows 8.1, Windows 7, Windows 10 systems, no matter what you did. Why? Because Java developers are sloppy and nervous about security since Java can be such a gaping hole in any network. ![]() Java has this problem every once in an update.
